It's mid-October in the River Valley and that means it's time for the leaves to start their showy exit. While peak leaf color doesn't happen for another two to three weeks, we can see the evidence of the changes beginning now. The sumac leaves are usually the first things I notice while driving down the road. Their deep burgundy color stands out in sharp contrast to the greens and golds around them.
We're very fortunate to live in an area of the country where we can enjoy nature's brilliant goodbye. The cold winter days are still weeks away and we have this stunningly beautiful weather to enjoy for a while. Let's make the best of it! Get out and check out some of the many craft shows going on in northwest Arkansas, take a road trip, or take a hike. There are miles of trails just waiting for you to discover the treasures they keep along their pathways.
Air Care Systems by Price, Inc. hopes you'll savor every moment of this transition from hot to cold, but remember that when those beautiful leaves turn brown and fall to the ground, don't let them clog your outdoor unit. Be sure to check the area around the outdoor unit to make sure there's no debris to clog the vanes. Airflow is crucial to an efficiently operating heating and cooling system.
